Shared Resource Interoperability Protocol
A vision to increase resource proliferation and visibility in the neurodivergent community, disabled community, and beyond.
The problem
Finding the right support for yourself or your child shouldn't mean checking five different websites and hoping the information is up to date. But that's the reality today — local disability and neurodivergent organizations across the country each maintain their own lists of providers, resources, and services, and there's no easy way to connect them. SRIP (the Shared Resource Interoperability Protocol) is our answer to that problem. It's a system that lets local organizations share their resource directories with platforms like ours automatically, so the information stays current without creating extra work for anyone.

How we can address it
Here's how it works: local organizations keep doing what they've always done — managing their website, updating their provider listings, publishing new guides. Behind the scenes, SRIP syncs that information into our directory, tagged with the topics it covers and the communities it serves. A resource about navigating IEPs in Santa Cruz County stays labeled as relevant to Santa Cruz County. A national guide on sensory-friendly home modifications shows up for everyone. Local knowledge stays local where it matters and becomes visible everywhere it's needed.

The impact
We believe this kind of resource sharing can make a real difference — not just for the neurodivergent and disability communities we serve today, but as a model for any space where critical support is scattered across dozens of small organizations doing important work. The people closest to their communities shouldn't have to be technology experts to make their knowledge accessible. SRIP is designed to make sure they don't have to be.

Want to learn more about the protocol and how the Neurodivergent Equity Coalition plans to start implementing it? We'll be uploading a pitch deck or video with an overview of the protocol and its proposed implementation. We're still hard at work developing the specification, so stay tuned for more updates!
